Transportation from Airports

In İstanbul, we use a transportation card named İstanbulkart for local transportation. Alternatively, you can buy single, double or three-pass cards if you do not plan to use transportation frequently. However, if you intend to tour the city, we recommend purchasing an İstanbulkart.

You can buy an İstanbulkart or counted pass tickets from ticket machines, which include many language options. You will also need to load them with Turkish Liras. We recommend exchanging some Turkish Liras at the airport before proceeding. These ticket machines are typically found near public transportation stations and look like this:

From İstanbul Airport (IST)

By Airport Bus

HAVAIST is the airport transportation company that provides services to various city centers. You can use these buses to reach many centers of the city like Taksim, Kadıköy, Beşiktaş or Yenisahra. You do not need İstanbulkart to use HAVAIST. You can buy your ticket from here. The line you are looking for is HVİST-14 which is transfer from İstanbul Havalimanı to Yenisahra. Once you arrive at Yenisahra, you will be approximately 3 kilometers away from the university. At this point, taking a taxi is a convenient option to reach your hotel or the university.

If you prefer not to use a taxi, you can also utilize local buses such as 14A, 11T, 19T, and 320A. However, please note that you should board the buses heading in the opposite direction of Kadıköy. Also, be aware that you will need Istanbulkart to use those buses. When traveling from Yenisahra, after 4 stops, you should alight at Küçükbakkalköy Station, which is a short walk from Acıbadem University.

By Taxi

Another convenient option to reach Acıbadem University is by using a taxi. In normal traffic conditions, the taxi ride takes approximately one hour and costs around 1100 to 1500 Turkish Liras. To secure a taxi, you can either find one around the airport yourself or utilize a taxi-finding app called BiTaksi. This app allows you to enter your destination, which can facilitate communication with the taxi driver, especially if they do not speak English.

By Metro

In Istanbul, the railway system is a good choice for transportation, especially to avoid the city's heavy traffic. You can access the Istanbul railway map through this link.

If you plan to use the subway to reach the conference center, you should take the M4 subway line, which is denoted by the pink color on the railway map. To find Sabiha Gökçen Airport Station, simply follow the signboards in the airport. It is approximately a 7- to 10-minute walk from the airport through an underground path.

Upon reaching Sabiha Gökçen Airport Station, you will need to get to Kozyatağı Station. From there, you can transfer to the M8 metro line. After one station, you should arrive at Küçükbakkalköy Station, which is just a 3-minute walk from Acıbadem University.

By Airport Bus

HAVABUS is the airport transportation company that provides services to various city centers. You can use these buses to reach Taksim, Kadıköy, or Yenisahra. The closest station to Acıbadem University is Yenisahra, so it is advisable to use the Yenisahra buses. Once you arrive at Yenisahra, you will be approximately 3 kilometers away from the university. At this point, taking a taxi is a convenient option to reach your hotel or the university.

By Bus

Another option to reach Acıbadem University from the airport is to use the E-3 bus. You can board this bus at Sabiha Gökçen Bus Station and then get off on Kemalpaşa Station, which is approximately 7 kilometers away from Acıbadem University. From Kemalpaşa Station, you have two convenient choices to reach the university: you can take a taxi or use the M8 metro.

If you opt for the M8 metro, please look for Mevlana Metro Station, which is just a 2-minute walk from Kemalpaşa Station. Once you are on the metro, you should get off at Küçükbakkalköy Metro Station, which is close to Acıbadem University.
