💡The second day of the ACML 2024 conference, held on December 6, 2024, was a dynamic and insightful experience for all participants. The day featured two significant events that captivated attendees: Plenary Session #03 by Professor Heng Ji and the Industry Panel on Generative AI (GenAI).

📌 Plenary session #03: "Making Large Language Model’s Knowledge More Accurate, Organized, Up-to-date and Fair" by Prof. Heng Ji

Prof. Heng Ji captivated the large audience by presenting a comprehensive overview of her recent work. Once an expert in Information Retrieval, she found herself facing a shift in her field with the advent of GenAI models like ChatGPT, which have become dominant in the tech landscape. Rather than being sidelined, Prof. Heng Ji reinvented her career by venturing into new areas, such as drug and materials discovery, leveraging the underlying technology of ChatGPT. She also integrated GenAI models into her processes, using them to tackle more complex and critical challenges than ever before.

Her talk spanned various topics, including generating intelligence reports from document collections, video analytics, adjusting news articles to alter biases or perspectives, forecasting disaster scenarios through what-if simulations, and working with socio-cultural norms.
